π Career Well-being: Stop treating LinkedIn like social media.

Dear Thriving Introvert! In this newsletter, I'll cover:
The difference between a "Doer" profile and a "Leader" profile
The high cost of "free" career advice (stop information overload)
How to say "I'm looking" without shouting.
Many of my clients have breakthroughs during the LinkedIn Profile Optimizationprocess. It usually happens when I write their About and Experience sections. They can't believe they are that person, that incredible leader. Well, I see them!
You can ask AI to make as many tweaks as you want, but it doesn't have the human ability to help you tell your story in ways that make sense for another human.
Your goal with LinkedIn shouldn't be to become an influencer or a "thought leader." Honestly, we are so tired of those loud people sharing quotes from books they never really read. Haha!
Your goal should be to ensure your profile positions you to show up as the leader you are. I hope this week's article can help you!

π‘ The difference between a "Doer" profile and a "Leader" profile
You log into LinkedIn and see peers posting daily polls, selfies, and "humble brags." If you are an introverted Manager or Director, you likely look at that and think, βIf that is what it takes to get promoted, Iβm out.β
Here is the good news: You do not need to become an influencer to attract executive recruiters.
In fact, the most effective strategy for high-level leaders requires almost zero daily posting.
To understand why, you have to stop viewing LinkedIn as a social media site and start viewing it as a Search Engine.
Executive recruiters use a specialized tool called LinkedIn Recruiter. This tool doesn't care how many "likes" your last post got. It cares about Keywords, Job Titles, and Quantifiable Impact.
If your profile is currently set up like a resume (listing your duties), you are positioning yourself as a "Doer." To attract Director-level roles, you must position yourself as a "Leader."
β
Here is the difference:
The Doer (Invisible): Lists "Responsible for team management" in their experience section.
The Leader (Magnetic): Lists "Scaled global team of 50 to exceed revenue targets by 20%."
But how do you write a headline that ranks in the search algorithm? And how do you maintain your visibility in just 15 minutes a month?
π» The high cost of "free" career advice (stop information overload)
If you missed last week's article, I discussed Free Career Advice For Leaders: Ditch Information Overload and Simplify Your Job Search. Are you accidentally building a "Frankenstein Profile"? You are stitching together conflicting advice from five different sources. The result? A disjointed profile that confuses recruiters. It is time to ditch the Information Overload. This article will help you track free advice to see whether it's working for your career and job search.
Announcing your job search publicly can feel terrifying, especially for introverts. But a well-crafted "Open to Work" post is one of the fastest ways to unlock hidden opportunitiesβif you do it right.
The goal is to learn how to write a post that feels authentic rather than desperate.

Dear Thriving Introvert! In this newsletter, I'll cover: You have 7 seconds. Does your profile pass the test? The part of leadership no one prepares you for Is LinkedIn your "Social Battery" drain of the day? One of the big takeaways some of my clients get with their LinkedIn profiles is this: "Wow! I didn't know my profile needed so much work. I love how it looks now. Thank you!" My goal is to ensure you love the profile and can speak about it, while it works in the background to ensure you...

Plan your exit quietly LinkedIn for job seekers has changed. Last week, my healthcare plan sent me a message about granting me access to the Headspace app as part of the coverage. It felt like a sooo needed gift in times of uncertainty. I was already a fan and a former subscriber, so I was smiling. I haven't met another human who...
